mycelium amphigenous, also on the stems and in the inflorescence. Appressoria nipple-shaped. Conidia formed in chains, short-elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia, rarely formed, with 5-30 asci, that contain 2(4) spores. Appendages up to over 100, densely crowded on the equator, 0.5-3 x the diameter; they are more or less stiff, mostly aseptate, hyaline throughout or brown at the base, 1-5 times dichotomously forked, terminal parts straight.
