mycelium amphigenous, white. Appressoria lobed. Conidia solitary, without fibrosin bodies, elliptic. Cleistothecia with 5-8 asci, containing 3-5 spores. Appendages numerous, equatorial, 2-8 x the diameter; not mycelioid, flexuous, radially spread, no septa or a few near the base, hyaline of faintly pigmented near the base; in most the the tips are simple, but in a minority the tip is forked once or twice.
