mycelium amphigenous, also on the stems, causing white, confluent patches. Appressoria nipple-shaped of more or less lobed. Conidia solitary, oblong-elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 2-5 asci, that contain 3-4 spores. Appendage 5-25, sub-equatorial, 1-7 x the diameter; they are mycelioid, septate, brown, mostly unbranched.
