mycelium amphigenous. Conidia solitary, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 3-6 asci, containing 4-5 spores. Appendages 5-10, inserted on the equator, generally 4-12 x the diameter; they are 0-1 septate, flaccid, brown at most at base; the tips are mostly several times irregularly branched, not flattened.
