Erysiphe quercicola Takamatsu & Braun, 2007

Fungi, Ascomycota, Leotiomycetes, Erysiphales, Erysiphaceae

on Quercus

mycelium amphigenous, persistent, often causing a brown discolouration of the leaf. Appressoria lobed or multilobed, solitary or paired. Conidia solitary, barrel-shaped, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia mainly epiphyllous, with 6-15 asci that contain 6-8 spores. Generally 5-30 appendages, attached to the equator. They are not longer than the diameter, stiff, hyaline, septate, more or less straight; at the tip they are suddenly broadened because they are bifurcated several times in quick succession.
