mycelium amphigenous, almost persistent. Appressoria lobed, single or paired. Conidia solitary, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 2-9 asci, that contain 3-5 spores. Appendages 6-25, equatorial and sub-equatorial, 2-8 x the diameter; they have 1-6 septs, are rather stiff, hyaline or light brown, often verruculose; the tips often simple, sometimes one or more times irregularly branched.
