mycelium dense, amphigenous, also on the stems, forming white spots. Appressoria lobed or multilobed, single or in pairs. Conidia solitary, oblong-elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia amphigenous, even on the stems containing 3-6 asci with 3-5 spores. Appendages numerous, sub-equatorial, 0.3-3 x as long as the diameter; they are attached below the equator, myceloid, septate, ± simple, basally brown.
