Fibroidium balsaminae (Rajderkar) Braun & Cook, 2012

on Impatiens

gall

mycelium amphigenous, persistent. Appressoria indistinct to ± nipple-shaped. Conidia formed in chains, with fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia unknown.

host plants

Balsaminaceae, monophagous

Impatiens balsamina, glandulifera, hawkeri, parviflora, textori, walleriana.

notes

it would seem obvious that this were the sterile form of Podosphaera balsaminae, but a study of the DNA rather points to a close relationship with P. xanthii.
