mycelium amphigenous, also on the stems, white, persistent. Appressoria nipple-shaped, solitary. Conidia short-elliptic, formed in chains, without fibrosin bodies. Foot-cell of conidiophore curved at the base, 12-17 x 40-90 µm. The cleistothecia contain 10-20 asci, each with 2 spores. Appendages numerous, equatorial and sub-equatorial, 0.5-2 x the diameter; they are mycelioid, mostly simple, septate, brown.
