mycelium amphigenous, also on the stems, thin, greyish white; on the upper side of the leaf conspicuous and persistent. Appressoria nipple-shaped, not paired. Cleistothecia with 4-18 asci, containing 2 spores. Appendages very numerous, sub-equatorial, 0.3-2 x the diameter; they are mycelioid, unbranched, 0-6-septate, more or less brown.
