mycelium amphigenous, sometimes in patches, sometimes persistent.Appressoria nipple-shaped, single. Conidia in chains, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Foot-cell of conidiophore curved at the base, or throughout. Cleistothecia with 6-15 asci that contain 2 spores. Appendages numerous, attached on and below the equator, 0.5-2 x the diameter; they are flaccid, mycelioid, brown, septate, unbranched, generally verruculose.
