Mycelium amphigenous, thin, mostly persistent. Appressoria solitary, nipple-shaped. Conidia in chains, with fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with (5)7-16(20) appendages on the upper half, extending like in a sea-urchin; they are 1-4 as long as the diameter, unbranched, brown at the base, stiff, very shortly branching at the tip, almost resulting in a small terminal disk. Ascus single, (6-)8 spored.
