Melampsora deformans

Melampsora deformans Leppik, 1949

Buhr points in his keys to this name, meaning a rust fungus that causes witches’ broom like malformations. The name is virtually unknown in the mycological literature. Gäumann supposes that the “species” applies to a witches broom that secondarily has been infected by some Melampsora.

Buhr (1964b, 1965a), Gäumann (1959a).
