no alternation of hostplant. Spermogonia not described. Aecia mainly hypophyllous, 2-3 mm, on roundish yellow spots, surrounded by paraphyses that are curved inwards; spores yellow. No uredinia. Telia hypophyllous, dispersed, black, similarly surrounded by paraphyses. Teliospores cylindrical, 28-32 x 52-84 µm, composed of generally 4-6 warty cells; apically a hylaine, conical papilla, 6-14 µm high; pedicel thick, up to 90 µm, persistent.
