Aecidium tranzschelianum Lindroth, 1901
Fungi, Basidiomycota, Pucciniomycetes, Pucciniales, Pucciniaceae
no host plant alternation known, only spermogonia and aecia. Spermogonia ver rarely formed, amphigenous. Aecia hypophyllous on large, red, galled spots; they are sunken in the leaf tissue, with a small opening; the peridium is stellate, soon falling off.
Geraniaceae, narrowly monophagous
check here about the the genus Aecidium. In this case, A. tranzscheliaa probably represents the aecia stage of Puccinia oerteliana. Until it is experimentally proven that tranzscheliana forms telia on Stipa it is safer to maintain the Aecium.
