No host alternation, no spermogonia or aecia. Uredinia numerous, mainly hypophyllous, chestnut brown; spores brown, one-celled, with 2(3) germination pores. Telia scarce, only late in summer, and not on all host plant species, brownish black; teliospores two-celled.
