No hostplant alternation. Aecia and telia amphigenous, on violet-brown spots; spermogonia not described; uredinia missing. Aeclia golden or brown, covered by the epidermis that opens by an irregular slit. Telia dark brown, 1-3 mm long; spores on a very short pedicel, 2-celled, with an unusually thick (6-9 µm), smooth,, hyaline wall.
