Puccinia barkhausiae-rhoeadifoliae Bubák, 1902
No host plant alternation. Spermogonia between the aecia. Aecia hypophyllous, pustulate, scattered all over the leaf and often over all leaves of the plant; the leaves are discoloured and thickened. Uredinia dark brown; spores 20-22 x 22-27 µm, 2-3 pores above the equator. Telia blackish brown, pulverulent. Teliospores two-celled, 22-31 x 26-44 µm, egg-shaped, hardly constricted; wall uniform, rather thin, pustulate; pedicel hyaline, deciduous. The fungus is systemic; infected plants are stunted, pale green and do not flower.
