Spermogonia amphigenous, in groups, honey-coloured. Aecia hypophyllous or on stems and petioles, on yellowed spots; peridium white, spores yellow. Uredinia mainly hypophyllous, light brown; spores one-celled, spinulose; 2 germination pores above the equator. Telia amphigenous, often in circular groups, dark brown, not pulverulent; spores slender-fusiform, two-celled, smooth, upper one with a high papilla, on a long persistent pedicel.
