No hostplant alternation. Spermogonia epiphyllous, also on the petioles, orange when mature. Aecia are not formed. Uredinia brown, long covered by the epidermis; initially in circles around the spermogonia, later mainly hypophyllous; urediniospores 20-32 x 23-40 µm; 3 distributed pores. Telia as the uredinia, blackish brown, pulverulent. Teliospores 2-celled, pear-shaped, 16-20 x 25-35 µm; cell wall densely and finely verrucose; pedicel hyaline, short.
