uredinia rust brown, amphigenous. Urediniospores 15-23 x 16-28 µm, spinulose, with ± 8 germination pores. Telia also amphigenous, covered by the epidermis, divided into small compartments by rows of brown paraphyses. Teliospores 2-celled, slender-conical, narrowed towards the pedicel; wall smooth, somewhat thickened at the tip; pedicel short.
