No host plant alternation; uredinia are missing. Aecia and telia predominantly hypophyllous, often also on deformed parts of petioles and stem. Aecia in elongate groups, cupulate, orange; spores 12-18 x 12-21 µm ø. Telia small, dark brown, spores two-celled on a deciduous pedicel of 16-42 µm in length.
