No host plant alternation, only uredinia and telia. Uredinia amphigenous, pale brown, small, pulverulent. Urediniospores 19-26 µm, with 2 (rarely 3) pores. Telia like the uredinia, blackish brown; spores 18-31 x 22-40 µm, two-celled, finely verrucose, on very short, hyaline pedicels.
