No host plant alternation. Spermogonia hypophyllous. Aecia hypophyllous, cupulate, yellow with recurved margin, on yellow spots, also on veins and petioles. Uredinia mainly epiphyllous, cinnamon brown, appearing after the aecia, also on yellow spots. Urediniospores 16-23 x 19-26 µm, with 2-3 distributed pores. Telia mostly hypophyllous, blackish brown; spores 16-26 x 21-35 µm, two-celled, finely verrucose, on short, hyaline pedicels.
