Arenaria ciliata, from Terrier (1961a): urediniospores and teliospores

gall

No hostplant alternation; only uredinia and telia. Uredinia rust-coloured, amphigenous, also on the peduncles and sepals, up t0 1 mm, pulvinate, long covered by the epidermis. Urediniospores globular, verruculose, with 3-4 dispersed pores, not capped by a papilla. The first teliospores develop in the uredinia, later in the season in pure telia; these form a blackish-brown, not pulverulent mass. Teliopsores short-elliptic, mostly two-celled, hardly constricted; wall smooth; pedicel persistent, almost hyaline, 120 ┬Ám.

hostplants

Caryphyllaceae, narrowly monophagous

Arenaria ciliata.
