host alternation not known, only uredinia and telia. Uredinia mainly hypophyllous, yellow, often merging into lines; spores with many distributed germination pores. Telia brownish black, covered by the epidermis, surrounded and divided into compartments by thick bundles of brown paraphyses; spores two-celled, apically thickened.
