uredinia 0.5 mm, rust-coloured, amphigenous, on yellow spots; paraphyses present, thread-like; urediniospores with 4-6(8) pores. Telia 1 mm, hypophyllous, covered by the epidermis, shining black. Teliospores two-celled (sometimes one-celled), hardly constricted, conical, tapering towards the thick and very short pedicel; wall smooth, only towards the apex somewhat thickened.
