No host plant alternation; aecia not present. Spermogonia yellowish brown, epiphyllous. Uredinia mainly hypophyllous, pulverulent, light brown. Urediniospores with three about equatorial pores, each covered by a low hyaline papilla. Telia blackish brown, hypophyllous, pulvinate. Teliospores 2-celled, short-elliptic; pedicel thick, persistent, hyaline, 75-130 µm.
