Cyperus longus, from González Fragoso (1924a): section through three telia, embedded in the leaf tissue

no host alternation. Uredinia and telia amphigenous, subepidermal, deeply sunken into the leaf tissue, often coalescing to groups of up to 3 cm, light brown. Telia differ from the uredinia by having 2-celled spores and by the presence of thick bundles of vertical narrow paraphyses.
