No hostplant alternation, no uredinia. Spermogonia scarce, epiphyllous. Aecia cupulate, singular or in small groups. Telia up to 0.5 mm, black, mostly singular, long covered by the epidermis that ruptures pore-like. Spores 2-celled, short-oval, 15-18 x 25-32 µm; wall smooth, of even thickness; pedicel short, hyaline, breaking off.
