no host plant alternation, only telia: light cinnamon-coloured, up to 0.5 mm, compact, pulvinate, hypophyllous, often in circles on brown leaf spots. Contrary to P. veronicarum there is but one type of spores: germinating immediately, 2-celled, pale, slender on a permanent petiole of up to 43 µm.
