uredinia amphigenous, small, ochraceous, initially covered by the epidermis, eventually pulverulent; no paraphyses. Urediniospores spinulose, with 4-5 pores. Telia amphigenous, brown to black, covered by the epidermis, with numerous brown paraphyses. Teliospores one-celled; wall smooth, thin; pedicel up to twice the length of the spore, ± hyaline.
