No host plant alternation; aecia and telia. Aecia hypophyllous, on discoloured spots, cupulate, peridium white, spores yellow, verruculose. Telia hypophyllous, ± black. Teliospores one-celled, smooth, wall apically strongly thickened; pedicel thick, persistent, up to 75 µm.
