No host plant alternation, no aecia. Uredinia hypophyllous, chestnut brown; urediniospores finely, remotely spinulose with 2 equatorial germination pores. Telia hypophyllous, dark brown. Teliospores one-celled, slender ovoid, wall smooth and uniformly thin; pedicel short, hyaline, deciduous. Infected plants are pale and etiolated.
