no hostplant alternation. Spermongonia honey-coloured, partly in large epiphyllous groups, partly in circles around the aecia. Aecia in dense hypophyllous groups, deeply sunken in the host tissue, af first covered by the epidermis that later ruptures, releasing the bright yellow spore mass. No uredinia. Telia very small, blackish brown, pulverulent, hypophyllous, between the aecia; spores one-celled, irregular in shape, on a short, deciduous pedicel.
