No host plant alternation, only spermogonia and telia. Spermogonia numerous, hypophyllous. Telia deeply embedded in the leaf tissue, therefore pustulate, brown, opening with a pore. Spores one-celled, somewhat pyriform, with a number of vertical ridges, that may anastomose; apically a small, well delimited papilla.
