spermogonia epiphyllous, flask-shaped, deeply sunken in. Aecia mainly hypophyllous, small thickened, swollen patches, initially subepidermal; aeciospores catenulate with a reticulate structure. Uredinia and telia epiphyllous, small yellow patches, initially subepidermal, later powdery.
