Spermogonia unusual by having long paraphyses that grow outwards through the central pore. Aecia homogeneously distributed over the leaf [the fungus is systemic]; not causing leaf spots. Peridium with broad, outwards bent segments.

uredinia and telis small, on discoloured spots. Uredinia small, bright yellow, long covered by the epidermis, waxy, without paraphyses; spores yellowish-brown, echinulate. Telia like the uredinia or more whitish; spores two-celled, thin-walled, hyaline, on a relatively long, persistent pedicel.
