± 2 mm large, black, pustules at either sides of the (especially older, lower) leaves. At maturity a yellow filament is extruded from the tip, where conidia are formed. This finally desintegrated, leaving a tiny black crater.


Arecaceae, oligophagous

Phoenix canariensis, dactylifera.

Less often on other palms.
