Urocystis agrostidis (Lavrov) Zundel, 1953

on Agrostis

gall

Elongate narrow blisters between the nerves of the leaf. The brownish black spore balls that are released here consist of 1-4 spores, wrapped in a continuous layer of smaller sterile cells.

host plants

Poaceae, monophagous

Agrostis capillaris, gigantea & subsp.maeotica, stolonifera.

notes

The infestation resembles that by U. tessellata, but the number of spores in a “ball” is here 1-4(5) (against 1-10(19) in tessellata).
