small black globular sori, containing asci, low in the plant. The infection is systemic, infected plants are abnormally strongly branched.
Montia arvensis, fontana.
In North America observed also on Claytonia.

Although this fungus was described as a smut, it actually is an ascomycete (Vánky); the current generic name cleary is provisional.
