Per host plant ce, up to four sporangia were observed. That is in agreement with an illustration by Coupin, but strongly differs from the maximum of 16 that is mentioned by Brandenburger. Klenke & Scholler state the mainly the petioles are infected; that too could not be confirmed in the Belgian material: the petioles were completely clean.
