mycelium amphigenous. Appressoria lobed. Conidia solitary, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 5-14 asci, that contain 3-5 spores. Appendages 5-25, equatorial or a bit above, 2-12 x the diameter; they are thread-like, not septate or with 1-3 septs near the base; often they all point more or less in the same direction; the tips are simple, sometimes with a ± dichotomous branching.
