mycelium amphigenous, also on the branches and in the inflorescence, may be persistent, white, later turning ochre or greyish. Appressoria lobed or multilobed, generally single. Conidia solitary, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 3-6 asci, that contain 5-8 spores. Two types of appendages. The first type consists of 10-25 equatorial appendages, 1-2 x the diameter, extending rather stiffly, terminated in a circinate hook. Next, there are 10-25 short, bristle-like appendages standing on the above the equator.
