mycelium mainly on the stems, thin. Conidia solitary, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 5-15 asci, that contain 4-7 spores. Appendages numerous, sub-equatorial and equatorial, 0.5 – 3 x the diameter; they are indistinctly or not septate, little branched, and often have a rough surface.
