mycelium amphigenous, also in the stems, persistent only around the cleistothecia. Appressoria lobed. Conidia solitary, elliptic, without fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with 6-16 asci, that contain 6-8 spores. Appendages sub-equatorial, sometimes equatorial, 0.3-6 x the diameter; they are mycelioid, not or little and irregularly branched, septate, initially hyaline, ultimately yellow to brown.
