mycelium amphigenous, mainly epiphyllous and along the main veins. Appressoria nipple-shaped, best developed in July and August. Conidia in short chains, without fibrosin bodies. Foot-cell of conidiophore 40-100 µm long, mostly distinctly curved. Cleistothecia with 5-15 asci, with 2 (up to 4) spores. Appendages numerous, mycelioid, septate, more or less brown, 0.5 – 2.5 x the cleistothecial diameter, attached to the lower half of the cleistothecium.
