mycelium white, amphigenous, starting as patches; partly internal. Appressoria lobed or multilobed, solitary. Conidiophores, long, filiform, with a very long basal cell, in bundles, emerging through the stomata. Conidia single. The first conidium formed is lanceolate with a well-demarcated apiculus that is missing in later formed conidia. Cleistothecia amphigenous; they contain up 15-30 asci, that have two spores. Appendages very numerous, mycelioid, attached below the equator, shorter than the diameter, not or little branched.
