mycelium both internal and external; external mycelium hypophyllous, white, sometimes persistent. Conidia solitary, club-shaped, no fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia hypophyllous, 170-235 µm, with numerous two-spored asci. Appendages 6-12 in an equatorial circle of stiff, aciculate appendages that are conspicuously swollen at their base.
