mycelium both internal and external; external mycelium hypophyllous, thin, white. Appressoria scarce, variously formed. Conidia single, clavate, without fibrosin bodies. Conidiophores thin and long, foot-cell 100-250 µm. Cleistothecia hypophyllous with an equatorial circle of 4-11 stiff, acicular appendages that are abruptly swollen at their base, 1-2.5 as long as the diameter of the cleistothecium. Asci 10-25 with two spores.
